The search engines have adopted Linked Data in a big way and most everyone that uses the Web has experienced the benefits of a rich search result. Now that Linked Data has arrived, what's next? Where are the Linked Data standards going to take us over the next 5 years?

In this talk:

  • Find out what W3C member companies are up to in the areas of Linked Data-based identity, trust, and Web payments.
  • Learn how Web identity will solve the login/password problem on the Web and what business models new decentralized protocols for data storage on the Web will enable.
  • Understand how companies are finally realizing the trust layer of the Semantic Web technology stack in a standards-compliant way.
  • See how Linked Data is a great fit for standardized, online commerce and crytographic financial networks, like Bitcoin and Ripple.

Manu is a Founder and CEO of Digital Bazaar, and a chairman for the Web Payments and JSON-LD Community Groups at the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). He also chairs the RDFa standardization work at the W3C and spends most of his time driving the creation of open standards and open technology that will integrate Linked Data, open identity, and payments into the core architecture of the Web. A champion for science and the arts, his life’s work is focused on empowering people to enact global change through the Web.
